The Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) President and Secretariat hosted a heartfelt farewell dinner last night at the Hilton Port Moresby for the PNG Women’s National Football Team, marking their departure for the upcoming Oceania Women’s Nations Cup 2025 in Fiji from 4th - 19th July 2025.

It aligns with the PNG Football Association’s tradition of honoring the Football National Teams before major tournaments. These events are more than ceremonial, they’re a powerful show of support and unity from the leadership, especially from President John Kapi Natto and the Secretariat.

The evening served as both a celebration of the team's dedication and a strong signal of confidence in their preparation and potential. As defending champions, Papua New Guinea’s women’s team will head into the tournament with the responsibility and pride of upholding their title.

In his remarks, PNGFA President John Kapi Natto commended the team for their continued hard work and expressed full confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level in the region.

“You have the strength, skill, and spirit to make our nation proud again,” he said.

The dinner brought together players, coaching staff, PNGFA officials, and invited guests to acknowledge the team's hard work, dedication, and achievements.

PNGFA President John Kapi Natto also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the players, technical team, coaches, and the PNGFA Secretariat for their unwavering commitment and support over the past three months of intensive preparation. “This evening is about recognizing your dedication and the collective effort that has gone into preparing for this campaign,” said President Kapi Natto.

“To the players, the coaching staff, the technical team, and our hardworking Secretariat, thank you for standing together for football and for our country.”

The event also included words of encouragement from senior PNGFA officials and Team Management as support to the team.

The PNG Women’s National Team is set to depart on Tuesday 1st of July 2025 next week.
